We hope this gives you a flavour of our wonderful school and a preview of what makes our Ashington community so special. Our school is nestled in the South downs amongst beautiful countryside, which we make full use of to enrich our Curriculum.
We are a one form entry school with 7 classes. Our school has outstanding grounds with a playing field, outdoor learning classroom, pond, allotment and access to a farm forest school site. Outdoor learning is central to what we offer here.
We are passionate about children's education and our goal is to ensure children feel safe, happy and excited about their learning enabling them to achieve their full potential.
At Ashington we have a hugely talented staff team, who are all deeply committed to this philosophy, who go above and beyond daily to provide Ashington children with all the necessary skills and knowledge to be the best they can be. We are a therapeutic behaviour approach school and prioritise children's mental health and wellbeing alongside their social, academic and spiritual development. Our curriculum is rich, enquiry based and builds on children's natural curiosities about the world.
Our Christian vision is based on Corinthians 'Love never Fails'. We encourage our children to live out this vision in all that they do and say every day by focusing on four key pillars; Love of ourselves, Love of others, Love of Learning and Love of God, founded upon our core values of: Love, Hope, Trust and Forgiveness. Our clear vision and values enable our children to make decisions and choices every day, which will ultimately help them to lead a happy, successful life and flourish spiritually.
As a Church School, strong links between the School and Ashington Church (Chanctonbury Church) have been nurtured, continually developing, and based on strong personal relationships. We host a number of seasonal services in the Church building throughout the year as well as welcoming Revd Paddy and Holly (Children's minster, Chanctonbury Church) to lead our collective worship in school.
