Private Hire Driver

Techxi is looking for caring and responsible individuals to join our team as Private Hire Drivers. This rewarding role involves transporting individuals with additional needs and vulnerabilities safely to and from school, college, day centres, and other places of learning.

In addition, our drivers support with journeys for everyday things such as, to and from airports, places of residence, shops, doctors' appointments, and everything in between.

Key Responsibilities

Safely transport those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and other vulnerable individuals. Provide transport to and from airports, places of residence, shops, medical appointments, and other destinations as required. Maintain a friendly, professional attitude with passengers, staff and all other stakeholders. Keep yourself and the vehicle clean, hygienic, roadworthy and respectful. Be available for morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, during term time.

What You'll Need

Valid UK Driving License: Held for at least 1 year. Enhanced DBS Check and Group 2 Medical Assessment: The DBS certificate and Medical Appointment will be paid for by Techxi. It is the candidate's responsibility to keep DBS on the update service at the cost of 16 per year. A valid Passport and the willingness to have a CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) run on your behalf (and pass). Willingness to Attend Training: A Private Hire License training course will be arranged depending on locale (1 - 2 Day Event). The next course will likely be held towards the end of the year, with the aim of starting as soon as possible after all checks have been completed. Legally entitled to work in the UK. Ability to park the company vehicle near your home. Be between the age of 23 and 75 (Insurance purposes).

Additional Opportunities

Although we intend for all of our staff to be hired on a part-time, term-time-only basis, there will be opportunities for overtime. Depending on tenders and contracts that are won, there may also be the chance to work full-time for a fixed period.

Contract Details

Pay:

The base rate of pay is 13.20 to 13.50 per hour.
In addition, a 'Rolled Up Holiday Pay' element will be added to your hourly earnings (12.07% for a full year entitlement). This amount will appear as a separate line item on your pay slip, ensuring full transparency.

Hours:

15-25 per week, based on specific school routes (School routes to be outlined pre-onboarding). Additional hours will be offered out periodically and if you wish to be considered for Full Time Fixed Hours, you can let us know during the onboarding phase.

Submit your application and answer the questions provided Confirm your preferential set working hours between 15-25 hours per week. Attend 1-2 day course (location depending on locale). Attend 30 minute Medical Appointment. Pass Enhanced DBS Check. Application sent to council. Collect Private Hire License from License Office when ready.
