The Big Science Project

is a rural-based Ceredigion company that provides a variety of exciting, hands-on, and engaging science-themed events for children aged 6 - 12. We are looking to expand our team of science instructors for our Summer of Science running between July 22nd to August 28th.

About you and the role

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and friendly individuals with a strong work ethic, and capable of providing a friendly, fun, inclusive environment for children. You will be passionate about science and a willingness to run events and inspire young children across a range of science themes. We are looking for individuals who can work with our team over the summer months to deliver all-day science camps for up to 30 children per event. The ability to travel all over Wales is essential for this role and therefore access to your own vehicle is required.

ESSENTIAL

Previous experience in presenting, or be a confident person willing to develop these skills. Ability to lead events. Enjoys working with children. Must have a passion for science and able to quickly learn the science activities and associated science knowledge. Must be available for the majority of the summer holidays (July 21st - August 30th) Available for the Working hours of Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm A full driving license and access to own vehicle is essential. An enhanced DBS certificate will be required prior to appointment.

DESIRABLE

Welsh speaking: As a proud bilingual company, we endeavour to provide all of our events in both English and Welsh. Therefore, Welsh language skills would be desirable. First aid trained would be advantageous.

SALARY

An hourly rate of 12.21 per hour
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: 12.21 per hour
