Are you a passionate science graduate seeking an exciting opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge in a dynamic educational setting? Look no further! We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic science graduate to join our team as a Science Technician at our esteemed secondary school.

Position: Science Technician

Start Date: September 2023

Type: Full-time (with potential for permanent role)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

About Us: Our secondary school is committed to providing a stimulating and supportive environment where students can flourish and excel in their scientific pursuits. As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience for our students by providing valuable support to our science department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up practical experiments for science lessons, ensuring all equipment and materials are readily available.
  • Assist science teachers during practical sessions, offering guidance to students and promoting safe laboratory practices.
  • Maintain and organise the science laboratory, ensuring all equipment is in good working order and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support science teachers in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a scientific discipline (preferably in a related field such as Chemistry, Biology, or Physics).
  • Previous laboratory experience or familiarity with laboratory procedures is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for science and a desire to inspire and support young minds.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
