At Darul Uloom you will teach the subjects listed above to pupils aged 11 to 16.

The correct candidate will be able to effectively teach, support, observe and record the progress of students through well planned lessons that are in line with national objectives.

Development within the KS3 and KS4 curriculum, new resources, methods and national objectives must be addressed and attended to. This role also involves liaising and networking with other professionals, parents and carers, both informally and formally.

Day-to-day activities include:

preparing and delivering lessons to KS3/KS4 pupils by following the new 9-1 syllabus marking work according to school policy, giving appropriate feedback including at parent consultations and maintaining records of pupils' progress and development researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devising and writing new curriculum materials selecting and using a range of different learning resources preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations managing pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties communicating with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events liaising with other professionals, such as learning mentors, careers advisers, educational psychologists and education welfare officers supervising and supporting the work of teaching assistants participating in and organising extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events undergoing regular observations and participating in regular in-service training (INSET) as part of continuing professional development (CPD)

Working time: Part time/Full time

Other duties: To play a full part in the life of the Darul Uloom

Qualifications: QTS/QTLS or PGCE (preferred) and / or Degree in the relevant subjects
