Science Technician
Point 7 to point 11 of the NJC pay scale for outer London: 29,346 to 31,074 per annum. 35 hours per week on a 52 week contract (negotiable)
Are you passionate about science and education? We are currently seeking to appoint a keen and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team. As a key member of the Science Faculty, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education to our students. This position involves working across KS3, KS4 and KS5 including GCSE, A level and BTEC A level classes, covering all science disciplines.
The responsibilities of the role include:
the preparation and maintenance of stock solutions and apparatus for lessons and experiments, ensuring they meet the needs of the science curriculum
the provision of technical help, preparation of materials, media and cultures for individual students during special investigation assignments
supervision, secure safekeeping and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment, adhering to health and safety standards
the provision of assistance with photocopying and reprographic duties relating to lessons, cover and examination
The ideal candidate will have:
a relevant science-based qualification
knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting
excellent organisational and communication skills
the ability to work effectively in a team
Previous experience of working in a similar role within a school is desirable.
