Location: The Francis Crick Institute, London
Short summary
The Francis Crick Institute's Talent and Organisational Development team forms part of the Crick's People team, and is responsible for the management, development and operation of the Crick's training and career development programmes.
As a Science Training Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for Crick students, staff and external collaborators for matters relating to technical scientific training, community building and career development.
Working closely with the Crick Technician Commitment Lead, you will coordinate related activities and produce the institute's regular self-assessment reports (including data gathering, analysis and tracking), action plans and associated activities.
Additionally, you will manage the day-to-day delivery and marketing of the team's training and career development activities, work closely with members of the wider People team and technical training community, and maintain a proactive and inclusive administrative service.

Key Responsibilities
These include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a point of contact for the learning aspects of Udemy and Workday, the Crick's HR System and proactive maintenance of the system; setting up courses, creating learning pathways, and tracking learner progress.
  • Gathering, analysing and acting on evaluation and impact feedback; making appropriate and timely recommendations to inform the Crick Academy portfolio.
  • Managing relationships with external and internal training facilitators; incorporating feedback, booking new courses, managing marketing and communications, providing support to host online and face to face courses.
  • Budget tracking and managing purchasing processes.
About you
You will have:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or have evidence of significant administrative, training or customer service work experience.
  • Strong interest in exploring learning and career development as a profession.
  • Significant experience of working effectively in a busy environment, with the aptitude for both coordination and delivery of relevant development activities.
  • Ability to multitask and to prioritise a busy workload and competing deadlines.
