Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Science tutor to deliver 1-2-1 or group tuition around Sale. The majority of tuition will be delivered in-person at the student's homes however we also offer online and school work.

Ideally you will be a qualified teacher with classroom experience and/or knowledge of the national curriculum including 11+, GCSE and A-level syllabus'.

Sessions can take place at any time with weekday evenings and weekend mornings being the most popular. The role is to start as soon as possible.

As a tutor you will be self-employed and so this will be on your terms. You can take on as little or as many students as you like.

Tutor pay is dependent on job type and experience.

As a tutor with Choice Home Tutoring you are expected to:

Plan and deliver quality sessions on your specialised subject using your own resources Prepare students for exams if required Liaise with parents to arrange timings and to give updates on student's progress Remain consistent with tuition Write short reports after each session Adhere to our safeguarding policies and report any concerns you may have to us

As a tutoring company Choice Home Tutoring will:

Find you students Deal with customer payments so you are guaranteed to be paid weekly Take care of any concerns you may have with clients and address them accordingly Guarantee a professional, friendly and a high-standard work ethos

Able to communicate and conduct themselves in a manner that is appropriate to dealing with students, parents and schools. Tutors should be punctual, trustworthy and mature in the way they deliver their tuition.

Knowledgeable -

Familiar with their subject topic so they can effectively support students in their tuition sessions. This does not mean you have to know a syllabus word for word, but rather have the knowledge to go away and familiarise yourself with any content you will teach. A sign of a good tutor is to know what you know but also know what you don't know and guide the student through the steps to find this out.

Inspiring -

Our tutors understand that they are dealing with the next generation and our goal is not only to improve the grades of the students but also to inspire them to find their confidence and realise their own potential to help carver their own way in life.
