The ideal candidate will have experience in the use of artificial intelligence in the context of evidence generation in healthcare settings, as well as the ability to run evaluations or pilots of artificial intelligence tools. If you thrive in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment and are ready to shape the future of NICE, we would love to hear from you.Role can be based in either our Manchester or London office.Main duties of the jobThere is a vacancy in the D&A team for a scientific adviser post, focused on developing NICE's AI strategy in partnership with teams working internally to NICE and also external stakeholders. The Scientific Adviser's role would work across a portfolio of projects, related to evaluating AI for use and appraisal by NICE. The post holder would be expected to lead, co-ordinate and provide expertise across different workstreams. The team adopts a flexible approach, meaning that the specific tasks assigned to the post-holders may change in response to business needs.The Scientific Adviser may also cover a range of other activities, including: * Conducting evaluations, analysing data and disseminating findings in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.

• Developing NICE responses to science policy issues. Typically, a policy response is needed when new research findings, or new policy decisions by government or regulators, mean that NICE's policies or methods require reviewing and/or updating.
• Working with colleagues across NICE to identify and prioritise areas where methodological research is needed.
• Working with colleagues across NICE to encourage the implementation and adoption of research or evaluation findings in NICE's methods and processes.
• Developing applications for research funding in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.
• Engaging with stakeholders and partner organisations.
