WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?

Known as "The Abnormal Beauty Company", DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The

Scientific Communications Internship

provides a unique learning opportunity to work with a pioneering

beauty brand

that is loved and trusted by our consumers for our

scientific

, honest and disruptive approach to

skincare

. The Scientific Communications Intern will work closely with the rest of the team to help execute a variety of tasks relating to

consumer queries

,

research

,

content creation & reviews

, as well as stretch assignments and development opportunities.



This is a

4-month internship

starting on

January 5th, 2025

and ending on

April 24th, 2026

.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Reviewing of Social and Learning & Development content alongside legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and effective communication of scientific topics. Creation of copy and content for social, web, press, influencers and partners. Research into key topics relevant to ongoing projects, such as new product development, research and communication projects. Supporting Scientific Communications team in day to day tasks. Ideating and brainstorming new approaches to science communications projects. Building and managing relationships across the business with a variety of different teams or stakeholders. Opportunities to work on stretch assignments for personal and professional development.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

Minimum 1 year of study or a diploma within Cosmetic Science or a related field (e.g. biochemistry, health sciences, pharmaceuticals, SCS Diploma) Proficient in English with excellent written skills and an Effective communicator Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Creative and Innovative Problem Solver Passionate about educating consumers
