About our Team

Cancer Cell is a flagship cancer and oncology journal at Cell Press. Trends in Cancer is a \xe2\x80\x9cmust read\xe2\x80\x9d journal in the field of cancer biology and oncology. You will be part of a dynamic team and fast paced environment with opportunities for growth throughout the organisation.

About the Role

You will report to Editors-in-Chief of Cancer Cell and Trends in Cancer, and your time will be divided between both journals. We are open to considering candidates at junior and senior levels and seeking applications from candidates with expertise in cancer research.

Location

This is a full-time editorial position based in our Cell Press office in London or Oxford in UK, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Berlin in Germany, or Madrid in Spain.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing submitted research papers and making editorial recommendations at Cancer Cell.
  • Commissioning and editing Review and Perspective articles, as well as other front matter formats at Trends in Cancer.
  • Providing outstanding author service and overseeing the peer review process.
  • Establishing relationships with researchers through outreach to the scientific communities and recruiting exciting content.
  • Traveling to scientific conferences and academic institutes.
  • Working collaboratively with the editorial teams and with academic Advisory Board members.
  • Helping to devise and execute strategy using data-driven innovation approaches.
  • Organizing scientific conferences and contributing to Cell Press growth and innovation projects.
Requirements
  • Have a PhD or MD in cancer research or clinical oncology.
  • Have a talent and passion for scientific communication.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Be a critical thinker and have the willingness to learn and absorb new areas of research.
  • Be able to work successfully both independently and in a diverse global team.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude, strategic mindset, and solution orientation.
