About the Job:

This role is based in a porta cabin office on-site at our small scrap yard. It's a hands-on environment - you'll be on the phones, speaking to customers face-to-face, and sometimes out on local runs. No two days are the same.

Main Duties:

Answer calls and respond to scrap car enquiries.

Call back leads, give prices, and book in collections.

Record bookings accurately and keep systems updated.

Meet customers at the yard, show vehicles, and take them on test drives.

Sell cars from our stock - giving clear info on condition, price, and paperwork.

Arrange payments and complete sales paperwork.

Run cars to MOT stations and mechanic garages when required.

Collect cars locally for servicing, repairs, or customer jobs.

Work with drivers and staff to make sure daily jobs run smoothly.

Keep paperwork, V5 forms, and scrap records organised.

Report daily bookings and sales figures to management.

A Typical Day:

8:00am: Open porta cabin office, check new enquiries, return calls.

Morning: Book in scrap cars, confirm details, update system.

Late Morning: Meet a customer, show a car, or go on a test drive.

Midday: Drop a car to MOT or collect from a garage.

Afternoon: Handle calls, follow up with buyers, and complete sales.

Late Afternoon: Confirm tomorrow's bookings, finish paperwork, update management.

5:00pm: Office closes.

What We're Looking For:

Full UK driving licence is essential (test drives & garage runs).

Confident talking to customers on the phone and face-to-face.

Must be able to sell cars and close deals.

Reliable and organised - good at balancing office work with local runs.

Comfortable working in a small scrap yard environment (not a showroom).

Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, booking system).

Sales or customer service experience is useful but not essential.
