Our luxury boutiques based in Hull (on the Weir), Harrogate & Brighouse are home to over 3000 beautiful wedding dresses designed right here in Yorkshire by our extraordinary design team. Our expert seamstresses will ensure the brides gown fits them perfectly, providing a tailored, couture-level finish. Additionally, we offer a wide array of custom alterations, allowing us to transform any dress into the exact vision they've always dreamed of. You'll work with a skilled seamstress who knows every detail of our designs, and in some cases, alterations may even be done by the designer!
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for someone who has a passion for the bridal industry and is keen to learn and to start a career with us and join our team in the Brighouse Boutique. The role would suit someone who is looking to start in an industry of alterations and design. This 2-year apprenticeship would cover elements of garment construction and altering with prospects of growth within the company. We are looking for someone to work alongside our inhouse seamstress over 3-4 days during the week. There will be highlights of creative design work for custom bridal gowns. On a day-today basis, full in-house training will be provided from our Designer and Senior Seamstress.
You will master basic alterations, preparation work and repairs and fittings before moving onto garment construction and custom work. You will oversee custom designer appointments for Bridal gowns
Skills & Experience:
A basic knowledge on how to use a domestic or industrial sewing machine is essential.
Experience in fashion design or textiles
Excellent customer service skills showing compassion and empathy
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong eye for detail and desire to take pride in work
Qualifications:
Good standard of GSCE results, with min grade 4 in English and Maths.
Diploma in Fashion Design or Textiles or minimum of 2 years working in this industry

Willing to travel across West Yorkshire to other stores and head office (not essential)
