Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team over the busy summer period. The ideal candidate will support the kitchen staff in food preparation, service, washing up and will assist in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The role is seasonal and varied to assist with demand during our busier periods.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients. Assist kitchen in cleaning of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met. Help with the cooking process under the guidance of chefs. Support catering activities by preparing food items as required. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper care and maintenance. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is great but full training wil be provided. The right attitude and willingness to learn are far more important! Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to take initiative when necessary. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
