Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu specifications. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and kitchen protocols. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality environments. Ability to supervise and motivate a team in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams. Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is highly desirable. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is essential.
