We are seeking a talented and passionate Second Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills. As a Second Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering high-quality dishes that delight our guests.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
Assisting with training.
Ensuring specs are followed.
Skills
Proven experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant setting.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing a team.
Excellent skills in food preparation and presentation.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
A passion for culinary arts and creativity in menu development.
