Your Role:
As our
Sous Chef / Second Chef
, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and team leadership. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment where quality and consistency are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
Manage stock control, supplier ordering, and waste reduction
Inspire, train, and support junior kitchen staff
Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
Uphold all food safety and health & safety regulations (HACCP compliant)
Foster a positive, efficient, and collaborative kitchen environment
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Second Chef, or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
Passion for great food and fresh ingredients
Strong leadership and communication skills
Calm, organised, and able to manage a busy kitchen
A proactive attitude and team-focused approach
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery preferred
Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen management
