The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities


From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.


It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.


In this role you will be a Secretary on East Division of Sussex Police. The role will involve diary and email management, drafting responses to emails and correspondence; producing, collating and circulating meeting papers; attending and minuting meetings; providing an effective note taking service; organising and booking of events, travel arrangements and accommodation; meeting visitors and taking telephone calls, ensuring a high level of customer service; and providing secretarial support to unplanned and pre-planned policing operations where required.


Skills & Experience


Essential:


Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Ability to take minutes. Good general IT literacy. Accurate typing at a speed of at least 60 words per minute supported by a relevant qualification. GCSE English Grade C or above (or equivalent). Outlook diary management training and experience. Strong organisational skills and the ability to produce high quality work to tight deadlines. Excellent customer services skills. Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information. Proven track record of secretarial and office experience. Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Problem solving skills. Willing and able to undertake training to become proficient in using additional IT and multimedia systems that are essential to the role.
Desirable:


Loggist (internal candidates) SharePoint training and experience Audio typing qualification or experience Experience of arranging Award Ceremonies or similar events
