Expanded Piling are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on our Monklands Hospital Replacement project in Airdrie (Scotland)

What will the role look like?




Role & responsibilities:




Responsible for the effective planning, supervision, and execution of piling works to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. The role involves setting out pile positions, levels, and reference points, and verifying alignment and tolerances before and during installation. Responsible for quality control across all piling works, including inspection of reinforcement cages, verification of concrete properties, supervision of pile integrity tests (PIT), load tests, and maintaining accurate records such as pile logs, daily reports, material usage, and test results. Technical and site-related issues are identified and resolved promptly in coordination with the design and project teams. Monitoring progress against the approved programme, assisting with short-term planning, optimizing the use of labour, plant, and materials, and reporting progress and constraints to the Project Engineer or Construction Manager. The Section Engineer provides technical guidance to site personnel, ensures adherence to approved procedures, and promotes high standards of workmanship and productivity throughout the piling works. Management / supervision / mentorship of more junior engineering staff.

Experience / Qualifications:




Degree qualified in Civil Engineering discipline, other construction related degree or an industry recognised technical or engineering qualification Circa 4-5 years' relevant technical / practical experience within an engineering role Piling experience
