The Job Purpose:
The production operative press prepper prepares the press tools within the scheduled requirements following the production schedule and reporting to the Press Shop section leader
Key areas of responsibility:
Maintain and improve sections H/S record, including responding to near miss and accident events. Providing investigation and feedback for near miss or accident occurrence within your section, complete risk assessment in accordance with assessment schedule
Ensure environmental procedures are adhered to in section (ISO14001)
Maintain and improve sections quality performance, including responding to customer quality problem report (QPR), Providing customer or internal PPS (practical problem solving) documents, utilising problem-solving tools such as Fishbone diagrams and 5 why analysis.
Maintain and improve departments 5 s procedure.
Maintain and improve section labelling performance, including responding to internal / customer miss-label, providing customer or internal PPS utilising problem solving tools such as fishbone diagram and 5 why analysis
Supervise, record and review production output including, member performance, machine performance and quality performance. Chart sections production performance via production graphs
Ensure compliance to company systems and procedures, suggest countermeasure to non-adherence of systems and procedures
Carry out audits plantwide to determine adherence to company policies and procedures, record non - adherence to standard along with any potential countermeasure suggestions
Communicate with section through daily shift briefs, communicate with other departments, section leaders, managers and senior managers through control room. When requested by manager, communicate with varying degree of stakeholders in informal/formal manner
Attend and contribute to meetings during work hours (dependant on managers' request)
Usage of scan gun to register scrap via sage system, log amount of scrap, investigating root cause of scrap and generating potential countermeasures when required
Interaction with cell visualisation boards to determine cell performance (health and safety, quality, miss label, productivity and availability) audit board to ensure adherence to standard
Assist with induction of new employees into section when required, ensure compliance to FMUK safety, quality, production and labelling standards
When necessary, conduct return to work interviews with members returning from absence
When necessary, conduct daily return to work monitoring meetings with members returning from absence
Manage member absence profiles on TMS
Conduct one to ones and performance development reviews for members when required
Ability to create work instructions using Microsoft packages
Ability to support production requirements by operating equipment on own or another department to reduce downtime.

The person:
IOSH Working Safely (1 Day) then (3 days) (Would be supported by FMUK for ideal candidate)
Previous Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment (Minimum of two years)
