Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. Brief Description

The Section Planner uses corporate planning processes, systems and databases to undertake the development of detailed, fully resourced and optimised work plans for approval by Section Managers.

2 Permanent Positions are available.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities

1. Plan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section.


2. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required.


3. Produce Safe System of Work plans.


4. Submit green zone access and isolation requests.


5. Produce draft quarterly plans.


6. Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings.


7. Represent Section Managers at planning meetings.


8. Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

Work Plan production and resource optimisation skills Scheduling profile in work planning/scheduling system Core Planning Skills Level 2 Knowledge of access and possession processes and systems Safe System of Work Planning Process and System Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills


Desirable

Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques

structured pay framework

, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.

Starting Salary:

27,000 to 29,500
