About the role

We judge children by their best days, not their worst. Embark on a rewarding career helping some of the most vulnerable young people from across the UK fulfil their potential.

You\'ll work as part of a dedicated, supportive team, and will be responsible for providing the day-to-day safe and secure care of the children at Lansdowne. Keeping the children engaged and occupied, you\'ll encourage and participate in fun, enriching activities with the young people, such as sports, cooking, arts and crafts and many more.

We\'re looking for candidates who are organised, self-motivated, resilient and who have a real passion and desire to work with vulnerable young people. You might have worked with children, had children yourself or have experience working in high pressure situations which require quick thinking and appropriate action. You\'ll be a creative thinker who is able to manage difficult conversations and challenge poor behaviour.

At East Sussex, we\'re committed to continued professional development, that\'s why you\'ll complete your Level 3 Children & Young People Diploma in Health & Social care (if not already achieved).

Lansdowne Secure Children\'s Home is a Secure Residential Provision where children are placed under section 25 (restriction of liberty) of the Children Act, 1989, and require motivated, caring and resilient staff to help them reach their full potential. Successful candidates must be prepared to work a rota which includes weekend and evening shifts.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency\'s Points-based Immigration System.
