Job Summary


This role designs, implements, updates, improves and supports Survitec's databases, data warehouses and data marts and the enforcement of security protocols required to protect and preserve Survitec's information assets



Duties and responsibilities

Monitors and reports on the security, integrity and performance of core systems and backup services, ensuring that all systems are performing at optimal levels Supports the collection of business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis and workflow analysis to express requirements clearly and succinctly; converts business requirements to database and information specifications Provides information and comments on suitability during approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved Tests databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements; supports the installation of databases as needed Supports implementation of required security measures such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance; identifies and escalates issues including attacks, breaches and identified vulnerabilities Drafts and maintains basic technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and creates backup files to ensure appropriate and timely recovery if problems occur Monitors and reports on the distribution of database resources; provides physical modelling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance Maintains a data recording process and system, performing functions such as data archiving and updating according to security policy and protocols Performs routine website and applications software tests and responds to user emails to monitor, diagnose and address performance issues Develops knowledge and understanding of Survitec's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtains authorisation from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions to mandatory procedure Identifies, documents and manages risks, issues, dependencies and constraints according to Survitec and IT risk management processes Creates an environment where everyone in the team can live the Survitec Values Creates an inclusive environment where our people feel valued, appreciated and free to be who they are at work Understands, upholds and contributes to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec. Experience and qualification

Educated to University degree level 1 - 3 years of job-related experience enables the role holder to manage own workload * No formal management experience required for this role
