Contract Security Architect - SC Cleared (Outside IR35) - 6 Months | 450-550pd | Remote

A leading public-sector transformation programme is seeking an

experienced Security Architect

to help shape and assure secure cloud and on-premises solutions across multiple workstreams. This is a high-impact role within a complex, fast-moving environment.

Role Overview

You will provide architectural leadership, produce HLD/LLD documentation, deliver expert cyber-security guidance, and drive Secure by Design practices across BAU, technical refresh, and new delivery programmes. The work includes risk assessments, threat modelling, supplier assurance, and influencing technical decisions at programme level.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and review security architecture artefacts (HLD/LLD) Lead assurance of cloud and on-prem security solutions Provide clear, actionable cyber security guidance Conduct risk assessments and threat modelling (MITRE, STRIDE, DREAD, PASTA) Ensure solutions align with UK Government security frameworks Support design governance and supplier assurance Maintain reference architectures, controls, and security standards

Essential Experience

Proven background as a

Security Architect

in UK public-sector environments

Active SC clearance

(mandatory) Strong AWS cloud-security expertise (Azure beneficial) Experience across Secure by Design, risk mitigation & resilient architecture Ability to communicate complex security concepts to mixed stakeholders Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, vulnerability tooling, etc.
