Job Description

DevNull is seeking a Security Consultant for a strategic Identity and Access Management (IDAM) and data security role focused supporting business continuity on critical business processes for large financial institutions. The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable engineer/business analyst/cybersecurity consultant with at least 5 years of experience working in the related field of cybersecurity.

The role will focus on assessing client strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations for controls, crafting design and process documentation, supporting project implementation, communicating with executive leadership, and consulting with key stakeholders.

For our clients, Security Consultants manage end-to-end solution design and are responsible for delivering design documents in line with functional and non-functional business requirements, strategies, principles, standards, and patterns. Alongside the creation of high-level designs, Security Consultants may be required to record key decisions, design deviations, and technical risks and issues where appropriate. Familiarity and competence with basic project management skills is important, as consultants are often tasked with maintaining project or operational continuity. Candidates should be comfortable presenting to and sharing solutions with design authorities, senior leadership, and stakeholders.

Cybersecurity Expertise:



Designing, implementing or operating Identity Governance and Administration solutions Strong knowledge of different access controls, RBAC, PBAC, MAC etc. Strong knowledge of different authentication protocols, SAML, OAUTH, OIDC, Kerberos etc. Designing, implementing or operating PAM solutions Maintaining IDAM standards, contributing to projects and upgrades, staying current with trends, and participating in audits and risk assessments. Broad background across information technology with the ability to communicate clearly with non-security technical SMEs at a comfortable level

Responsibilities



Architecture:

Document and analyze business and user requirements clearly and accurately from stakeholders Produce, manage, and maintain appropriate architectural artefacts Ensure any technical risks or issues arising from a solution are documented, communicated, and mitigated
Risk and Dependency Management:

Document, communicate, and manage technical and project risks or issues Articulate solutions and remediation steps to technical risks & issues
Leadership & Teamwork

Provide technical thought leadership to the Design Team and the Project Manage a project team of service owners, engineers, and/or analysts

Your Base



Whilst DevNull Security are a remote-first company, our consulting team may be required to travel to a physical site 2-3 times per week (either Edinburgh, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, London or Glasgow) subject to project/customer requirements.
