About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle - from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we're helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Overview of the role
Come to work for our growing Security Team who provide essential support to our clients. The Security Controller role provides internal assurance within the Defence and Nuclear sector by providing project security support and assurance to Mott MacDonald projects in respect to our compliance against security obligations.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Track and maintain compliance with security policy, procedures, process for both project team and sub-contractors
Support the project delivery team during the classification of work packages providing security focused guidance during the development of security aspect letters (SAL's)
Advise site / construction management on construction security best practice within the CDM area
Ensure project security resources are providing adequate coverage to maintain the safety and security of the CDM area during each phase of the project
Develop and own the project security orders and standard operating procedures (SOP's) ensuring all security manned guarding resources are fully conversant
Act as a single point of contact for all project security related matters with DRDL and MIP Security functions
Develop, own and update on security risks to the project schedule
Ensure the project reflects any changes to DRDL's security posture, communicating and implementing additional controls at a project level where necessary
Coordinate security awareness training for the project team and sub-contractors
Support project commercial team assessing and scoring security submissions for PQQ's and ITT's
Brief security requirements during all induction briefs and update when required
Monitor and record security non-conformance to provide auditable evidence for DRDL & MIP security assurance team(s)
Communicate emerging security risks and uncertainties to programme / project management and MIP security functions
Assist DRDL & MIP construction / information security teams in incident investigations when required
Track leavers and joiners on the project
Provide Project Manger's with security assistance for all project works
Co-ordinating with project staff to ensure all security requirements are met with onboarding and offboarding staff
Conducting own research into security practice that could be adopted
Candidate specification
Essential:
Experience in security environment
Risk management experience in highly regulated environment
Auditing experience
Evidence of mentoring and training with positive results
Experience of report writing
Able to work as a part of a team and independently
Desirable:
Experience in corporate security environment
Security related qualifications foundation level
Risk management qualifications foundation level
DISA certified
Auditor qualifications
NPSA experience
GovS007 experience
JSP 440 experience
