Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 6 days off / 4 nights on, 4 days off / 3 days on, 3 nights on, 4 days off

Hourly Rate: 20.40

As a Security Controller with ISS, you will be at the forefront of creating a safe environment; protecting colleagues and our customers' people, property, and assets through exemplary security operations.

The Role

The Controller provides a critical 24/7 technical surveillance and command support function for the business. Operating from the Security Control Room (SCR), you will monitor and respond to all critical alarms and support Supervisors in the day-to-day management of the SCR.


This role also plays a vital part in the site's Command and Control structure during any emergency, ensuring timely and coordinated responses to protect people and infrastructure.


Controllers work closely with operational management to deliver a professional, efficient client service.

The Role

Provide 24/7 surveillance from the Security Control Room (SCR), monitoring all CCTV, alarm, and security systems. Conduct CCTV patrols to detect suspicious or hostile activity. Operate the SCR Controller desk, CCTV console, and contractor control positions on rotation. Support Supervisors in responding to medical, fire, security, and crisis incidents per escalation procedures. Fulfil assigned roles within fire evacuation and Command and Control structures. Manage integrated security systems (ProWatch, CCTV, BMS, fire alarms), responding to alarms and reporting faults promptly. Coordinate responders and accurately record all incidents for audit purposes. Liaise with internal teams and external authorities, including emergency services. Handle key management, calls, and public address announcements as required. Maintain clear communication and timely escalation during major incidents.

About You

Previous corporate security experience, ideally in a control room or similar operational environment. Valid SIA Frontline Security Guarding and/or Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence. Good working knowledge of security systems and related technologies. Strong attention to detail and a consistent, professional approach. A team player with excellent customer service skills. New recruits will be encouraged to enrol in a relevant apprenticeship as part of their training and development.
