Your role in the team




As a Manager of the Security Data Insights Engineering team, you will create, foster, and lead a community of engineers dedicated to delivering security products focused on aggregating and reporting security data to inform the strategic direction of Allstate's security program. You will manage a cross functional and geographically distributed team of engineers that have competencies in all aspects of engineering, including testing/QA, front end PowerApps, back-end and SQL. Most developers are also skilled in DevOps, including systems administration-style work such as scripting deploys and setting up continuous integration. You will be focused on inspiring innovation while ensuring the delivery of new products in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities



Serve as a leader in all dimensions of the work: people, process, technology Embrace approach of making collaborative, fast, local decisions; then course correct as/if needed (test/learn/iterate) Provide meaningful/thoughtful feedback on others as requested Leads regular agile meetings (e.g., site standup, product team standup, iteration planning meeting, retrospective, lunch & learns) Maintain positive outlook in handling continuous change and bring a sense of urgency in driving positive change at Allstate (innovation, faster time to market, improved quality) Leads and participates in retrospectives, demonstrating and encouraging each participant to provide feedback with empathy Partners in collaboration and strategy alignment across product portfolios (cross-product) in partnership with product managers, other peers and key stakeholders with the customer needs and wants in mind Serves as an expert in the domain of information security and a lead advocate of one or more technology stacks and shares that knowledge across organizations Participates in the effort of shaping the architecture and design of the product; actively helps the team in choosing the right technology, solving technical problems, Coaches the team in writing software and building products Satisfy all administrative-type requirements such as timesheets, performance management process, annual compliance, security training, etc.

Essential Skills



All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy. Minimum 4 years' experience in Java and/or JavaScript coding background including familiarity with the following tools: Intellij-IDE or VSCode or Eclipse or relevant IDE Github Spring Framework PowerBI/PowerApps/Power Automate Microsoft SQL Server Python Minimum 12 months' experience in mentoring or coaching teams Knowledge of Agile methodologies (especially Agile XP), including paired programming and test-driven development.

Desirable Skills:



Knowledge and experience on approaches and tools for automated testing and monitoring Experience developing continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD) and continuous deployment pipelines for distributed apps Experience in Power App UI and/or responsive web front end / single page application development using modular JavaScript
