Equans is looking for a Security Duty Manager to join our team in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, B15 2WB on a permanent basis. This is a full time position working 42 hours per week. On offer is a salary of 34,425.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Pattern:
12hrs shift. 2 days 07:00-19:00hrs - 2nights 19:00-07:00hrs, 4 off.
WHAT WILL YOU DELIVER?
To be single point of physical face to face contact via customer service interface with Equans , NHS Trust, sub contractors, Police and emergency services. The SDM department will provide Equans management representation 24/7 focusing on out of hours.
To deploy to any major issue, task or escalated incident needing Equans management involvement
To maintain first point of contact for Equans involving initial and out of hours facilities issues
Act as shift security manager on respective teams and manage the day to day security operation (must be dual badge SIA CCTV and Security licence)
Supervise control room operations as per Assignment instructions, LOPs and BS 7958:2009
Assist in the Management, Supervision and liaison with the Helpdesk out of hours
To escalate / deescalate major incidents or situations under Equans guidance
To monitor the operation and conformity of Equans Sub contractors on site
To co operate with West Midlands Police and / or any other authorities
Assist in the promotion of Trust policies
Carry out necessary security tasks, both planned and reactive.
Ensure that all procedural security requirements are met, if not exceeded, regarding the client's assets and occupants on site.
Security provision including H&S, Fire Precautions and First Aid.
To operate the CCTV system if necessary and report any faults in the prescribed format (procedural).
To produce regular update reports to the Security Manager / Operations Manager on the function and related issues.
Requirements
Essential:
SIA CCTV & Security Guarding certification / badges
Level 2 Physical Intervention
Understanding and awareness of Health and Safety at work
In possession of/ working towards Level 3 Front Line Management qualification
Must have the ability to communicate courteously with a high level of customer service skills. An awareness and sensitivity to specific needs regarding a healthcare environment
People interaction skills. Must possess ability to operate flexibly to adapt to changing circumstances sometimes working under pressure prioritising busy workloads
Respectful, Trustworthy and dependable
An outgoing, resilient, confident professionally sensitive and mature nature
A reliable and conscientious approach to work
Working in a large team
Experience in dealing with public focussing on high customer service skills
Managing / supervising staff
Preferred:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Additional training in security or related fields is a plus.
Display customer-focused behaviour
Demonstrate respect, flexibility, and confidence.
Awareness of healthcare environment sensitivities.
