Security Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and customer focused Security Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for installing and commissioning a wide range of security systems to the highest industry standards across commercial and public sector sites.

About the Role





In this hands on role, you will install, commission, and maintain security systems, including intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and public address systems. Working independently or as part of a small team, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, meet relevant British and European standards, and comply with NSI codes of practice. As a key client facing professional, your ability to communicate effectively and deliver quality results is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities





Install and commission security systems to industry and regulatory standards. Diagnose and resolve system faults; provide technical maintenance support. Deliver professional customer service and technical guidance on system options and upgrades. Ensure timely completion of projects with accurate documentation (e.g. reports, handovers, compliance checklists). Maintain strong working relationships with clients through effective communication and reliable service delivery.

Skills & Experience





A minimum of 3 years' experience installing and servicing intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems. Knowledge of relevant standards, including:


PD6662:2017 / BS 8243:2010+A1:2014

(Intruder Alarms)


BS EN 62676 / NCP 104

(CCTV)


NCP 109

(Access Control)



Understanding of LAN/WAN networking and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Strong faultfinding and problemsolving skills. Proficient in using PCbased software for system configuration and diagnostics.

Essential Criteria





Full UK driving licence (company van provided). Good physical fitness (able to safely handle equipment and work at height). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Wellorganised, selfmotivated, and detail oriented.
