JOB PURPOSE:

To provide a professional and efficient service in safe-guarding the MEL site buildings, staff and products.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide "out of hours" on site security for the whole MEL Aviation Ltd site, including Addison Rd and Byford Rd. To patrol routinely and ad-hoc, the site buildings and car parking areas to ensure there are no unauthorised personnel on the property and provide a documented account of the patrol times. To review all CCTV equipment during the "out of hours" for the sites, as and when practical. Ensuring that any occurrences are logged in the security book, along with dates and times. The CCTV sites are MEL Aviation Ltd - Addison Rd & Byford Rd, and the Linton Plastic Moulders Churchfield Rd site. There may be more sites added as seen fit and as required. To provide a lock down of the buildings when "out of hours" to ensure enhanced security of the access points. To provide help and assistance to visiting, and lost members of the public and or visitors who may find themselves on the MEL site property including its land. To provide "out of hours" point of contact for receiving post, parcels and arranged deliveries as and when required. To provide "out of hours" point of contact for collections via couriers of any post, parcels and products as and when required. To support the company in general maintenance tasks with the site during operational hours as seen fit, and in advanced agreement with the line manager. Always adhere to Company policies and procedures Maintain exceptional standards of housekeeping ie keeping floors swept clean, shredding cardboard boxes and relevant material. Be prepared and willing to undertake training in the following: First Aid, Known Security training and SIA (if deemed necessary). Help fellow colleagues in Despatch, Goods Inwards and Transport Dept as and when appropriate. Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of MEL capability and product ranges. Work to set standards and deadlines. Ideally gain or already have forklift truck experience / licence. Maintain a smart appearance and wear PPE and company uniform provided, always representing the Company's best interests. Undertake any further reasonable instruction as seen fit by the line manager. To work together as a team, and with the line manager to enhance, and improve the security systems of the company to provide greater protection and safety for the business.

Good verbal communication skills Meticulous attention to detail, methodical approach to work ensuring accuracy at all times Reliability and trustworthy Knowledge, experience and willingness to work alone, often for long extended periods, during days, nights and at weekends that will include Bank holidays. Has the desire to succeed as an individual and with the surrounding team. Positive approach / attitude to customer service (both internal and external customers) Self motivated Flexible and adaptable in approach Confident and calm under pressure Good planning and organising skills with the ability to prioritise accordingly Able - bodied (able to lift safe loads without assistance). Ability to work CCTV equipment and other computer equipment as necessary within the job role.

SALARY / HOURS:

24 hours per week + Additional hours for holiday cover

Salary is 28,000 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent)

Night Shift: 12 hours
