Job Description


The Security manager for Aviva North and Ireland is responsible for providing security operations, governance in line with contract requirements, and subject matter expertise to our client, for locations in Scotland and Ireland.

This is a key role in ensuring Securitas complies with all regulatory requirements for securing the client\'s organisation\xe2\x80\x99s physical buildings, assets and personnel.

The Security Manager ensures that security performance is monitored, measured and reported against the Securitas and client standards, in a cycle of continuous improvement.

This will have dual reporting lines not only in the Director of Security Operations but also into the client\xe2\x80\x99s Director of Group Corporate Security (delegated responsibility)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for delivery of security assessment, reports and reactive requirements.
  • Ensuring reporting and governance of open actions is recorded and risks logged
  • This role is part of the wider Group Corporate Services team and has a role in supporting the client strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with the group standard for the physical security of Aviva buildings, assets and personnel.
  • Ensuring that annual physical security reviews are conducted for all Aviva UK premises in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland
  • Ensuring that control deficiencies are identified and addressed and that risks are raised formally
  • Provide specific focus and expertise to protect Aviva from the risks associated with terrorism (both local and foreign), malicious intrusion and global travel.
  • Provide line management to assigned perm and relief security officers assigned to the contract, working closely with the local branches
  • Working with all Aviva services providers

Essential Skills
  • Formal qualification in Physical Security Management, or equivalent experience in a military or law enforcement, or corporate organisation.
  • 5 year employment history and correct Right to Work documents
  • Work with key stakeholders including Business Information analysts to combine business information with intelligence products. Strong aptitude for analysis, a naturally inquiring mind and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Continuously learn and be flexible to develop expertise in specific areas, using new systems.
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent report-drafting skills, with consistent attention to detail as reports will be written for readers at the highest levels within corporate organisations.
  • Proficient in office software applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel etc.)
  • Willingness to learn and work with a range of IT applications
  • Be responsive and flexible to changing requirements and priorities and be able to adapt to unpredictable circumstances.
  • Strength of character to build relationships with people and be persuasive.
