Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Unilever Research & Development, Quarry Road East, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 3JW

Working Hours: 39 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Rotational, including days, nights, and extended breaks

Hourly Rate: 14.05

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Introduction

Are you a dedicated and reliable Security Officer looking to join a supportive and professional team? At Sodexo, we have an exciting opportunity at the Unilever Port Sunlight R&D site. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and operations in a dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment through regular patrols and access control Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies Monitor CCTV and alarm systems (where applicable) Provide clear and professional communication both verbally and in written reports Work independently or as part of a team during day and night shifts Liaise effectively with site personnel, visitors, and emergency services Maintain accurate records and follow standard operating procedures

Ideal Candidate

Essential:

Valid SIA Security Officer Licence

Desirable:

SIA CCTV Licence IT literate with confidence using security systems and reporting tools Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities Ability to work alone and take initiative Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills Good organisational and planning capabilities Calm and effective under pressure A dependable team player

Shift Information

Summer Roster:

Two days, two nights, four off; with three 18-day breaks built into the fixed rota

Winter Roster:

Two days, two nights, six off; includes standby system for the first two days off using banked hours/overtime; no standby required during 18-day breaks
