Job Overview: Seeking a dedicated and vigilant

Security Officer

to join our campus security team. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding students, staff, visitors, and university property. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a safe learning environment through proactive patrolling, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents promptly and professionally.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular campus patrols to identify and prevent potential security risks, ensuring all buildings, gates, and access points are secure Monitor and control access to university facilities, authorising entry and exit of staff, students, visitors, and contractors Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, and disturbances, ensuring appropriate action is taken Operate CCTV and other surveillance systems effectively to maintain high standards of security Provide assistance, guidance, and a reassuring presence to students, staff, and visitors Prepare clear and accurate incident and daily activity reports Support loss prevention measures and safeguard university assets Deliver first aid or emergency care when required (training provided if not already certified) Adhere to university policies, safeguarding principles, and health & safety procedures

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Security Officer or similar role preferred Good understanding of security regulations, campus safety, and incident response practices Strong observational and surveillance skills Ability to write clear, concise reports Confident in using CCTV and other security technologies First aid certification desirable (or willingness to obtain) Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure A proactive, reliable, and customer-focused approach to security
