Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • To provide clients data centre with an efficient and effective security service.
  • To ensure that the security of the premises is not compromised and carry out prescribed procedures in the event of a security breach, fire, flood, accident or major incident.
  • To be welcoming and effectively supervise access to the Data Centre.
  • To ensure all duties associated with security, including patrols, responding to incidents, reacting to alarms are carried out correctly.
  • To monitor deliveries and reporting any health and safety concerns.
  • To Deputise for the Bidvest Noonan Security Manager in their absence
Specification:
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Hold valid SIA licence and 1st Aid qualification
  • Have previous experience in the security industry
  • Be polite, helpful and diligent
  • Have a calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations
  • Have a Proactive and efficient approach
  • Be flexible to meet the needs of the role and short notice shift changes
  • Be able to work without supervision and as a member of a team
  • Be knowledgeable and able to communicate effectively

General responsibilities:
  • Keep up to date with site access procedures
  • To respond immediately to any calls for assistance and take control of incidents if necessary.
  • To restrict and promote the correct protocols, the validation of visitors, keys and pass issue
  • To be proficient in the use on site computer-based CCTV, access control systems
  • To assist in the monitoring of security and fire systems as required and to investigate and respond to alarm activations
  • To assist in implementing emergency action plans and assist with fire evacuations
  • To build professional working relations with on-site contractors and staff
  • To identify hazards, potential hazards and issues relating to security/ health and safety and to take immediate remedial action if required before reporting as appropriate.
  • Maintain approved status as a first aider.
  • To use sound judgment and good interpersonal skills when dealing with Client, customers and visitors to site
  • To support, promote and protect the business needs of the client
  • To participate in other duties commensurate to the role of the position on site.
