Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises at the Oakmall centre, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess keen observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, preventing loss, and providing assistance when needed, contributing to a secure and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks Monitor CCTV footage continuously to observe activity and respond promptly to suspicious behaviour Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and reporting theft or vandalism incidents Enforce security protocols and access control procedures for staff and visitors Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations, including medical incidents, by administering first aid if necessary Maintain detailed records of security activities, incidents, and observations in logs or reports Liaise with law enforcement or emergency services when required Assist visitors with enquiries and provide directions within the premises as needed

Qualifications

Proven experience in security or related fields is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates Knowledge of surveillance techniques and CCTV operation is advantageous Certification in first aid or emergency response is desirable Strong observational skills with an eye for detail Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally Valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations (if applicable)
