The Ideal Candidate

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills with the ability to accurately document events.
• Proficient with computers and quick to learn new software.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Able to communicate professionally and courteously at all levels, maintaining composure in potentially escalating situations.
• Outstanding attendance, punctuality, and disciplinary record.
• Previous experience in security is preferred, but training can be provided.
• Must hold or be able to obtain an SIA license and complete a First Aid course.
• Willing to attend fire safety and fire extinguisher training.
• Flexible and enthusiastic, ready to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands and cover holidays and sickness.
• Some bank holiday work is required as per the set rota.

Your Key Responsibilities

• To understand the security measures and tasks to be applied and carried out at both the Humberstone Road or Ladysmith security gatehouses in order to be able to work confidently and effectively in either location as required.
• To maintain a safe and secure environment on site, protect the property, facilities and product relating to the Company at all times against theft/trespass and illegal entry or tampering.
• To be visible and remain observant at all times, greeting staff, guests, delivery drivers and visitors in a courteous and attentive manner and ensuring that they follow the signing in and contractor / visitor procedures, contacting hosts where applicable.
• To initiate site procedures for unannounced audits or compliance inspections, ensuring escalation in accordance with procedure.
• Provide a point of contact for site security issues ensuring if these cannot be resolved they are escalated to required personnel on or off site in line with site procedures.
• Generate well communicated security reports for key site issues, distributing to senior personnel for their attention. To physically patrol the site as per training, and actively look for potential site security or TACCP breaches.
