In House Permanent Security Officer
4 on / 4 off (Day & Night Shifts)

The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets across the estate. You will be part of an experienced in-house team providing 24/7 coverage, delivering a visible and professional security presence while upholding the organisation's values and standards. The role includes a mix of day and night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the security and integrity of buildings, facilities, and grounds.
• Monitor and control access for residents, tenants, staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Manage the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the estate.
• Handle keys responsibly, logging issue/return and reporting any discrepancies.
• Respond to incidents, investigate as appropriate, and liaise with management and police as necessary.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, fire, lift, and intruder alarms.
• Open and secure entrances at designated times.
• Answer telephones and respond to queries in a courteous, professional manner.
• Maintain detailed records, including logs of incidents, lost/found property, and shift handovers.
• Act as a bank escort when required.
• Monitor and support contractor access and activity.
• Ensure effective communication between team members at shift changeovers.
• Remain vigilant and alert throughout the shift to identify and respond to any unusual activity.

Person Specification

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• Physically able to conduct foot patrols and manage stair access within buildings.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Professional and proactive approach to safety and security.
• Confident dealing with the public and able to manage phone and face-to-face enquiries.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and security system applications.

Desirable

• SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence - training can be provided.
• First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certificate - training can be provided.
