We are recruiting for a Security Officer with a passion for ensuring safety, a professional yet approachable demeanour, and a commitment to providing exceptional protection services.
We are now fully operational at Virgin Hotel London Shoreditch, and your role will be essential in safeguarding the premises, guests, and staff, while creating a welcoming and secure environment for everyone.
As a Security Officer, you will maintain a visible and vigilant presence, ensuring all security protocols are upheld while remaining approachable and helpful. Your role is crucial in creating a safe space where guests feel at ease, allowing them to enjoy their stay without worry.
You must possess a fluent level of English, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and demonstrate a calm, confident approach to security.

What exactly you will be doing...
Follow the security manual and hotel safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with licensing objectives at Virgin Hotels London Shoreditch.
Report for duty punctually with a professional appearance.
Perform assigned duties based on event-specific instructions.
Document incidents and occurrences in written reports.
Know the locations of firefighting equipment and execute evacuation procedures effectively.
Hold first aid certification and administer it as needed.
Patrol public areas regularly, supporting door supervisors and bar managers, especially during busy hours.
Serve as a response point for security-related incidents involving guests or staff.
Impartially report incidents, regardless of individuals or consequences involved, to support accurate decision-making.
Maintain fair and compassionate judgment, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or other personal attributes.
Continuously improve personal skills through training opportunities.
Assist police and other government agencies with investigations, respecting the Data Protection Act of 1998.
Seek guidance from the Duty Manager or the Safety and Security Manager when needed.
Adhere to and maintain confidentiality regarding all event security arrangements.
Refuse access to individuals who may pose a legal risk to the event organiser.
Resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy, using minimum force only when necessary.
Maintain open communication with all hotel departments.
Uphold Virgins core values and attend required training sessions.
Report hazards and ensure they are promptly addressed.
Work safely, minimising risks of harm to self and others.
Keep the work area clean, reporting any defective materials or equipment.
Background must-have:
Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures, security protocols, and health and safety policies.
Competency in IT and training programs is valuable.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Current right to work in the UK.
