The Operations Support Officer is a versatile security professional responsible for providing operational coverage across the estate's diverse security environments. Officers in this role must be capable of adapting to different assignments, which may include external estate patrols, building front-of-house operations, loading dock security, or Fire Control Centre monitoring duties.
This is a dynamic, high-visibility role requiring strong security awareness, excellent customer service skills, technical competence, and the ability to maintain professional standards across multiple operational contexts. Officers work both independently and as part of a wider security team, ensuring safety, security, and smooth operations across all assigned areas.
About the Role:
As a Support Officer you will be responsible for:
Core Security Duties (All Assignments)
Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service during all interactions.
Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, or notable interactions to the Control Room for appropriate logging and follow-up.
Offer guidance and directions to visitors, ensuring smooth access to buildings and estate facilities.
Estate Security Operations
Conduct regular external patrols of the estate to deter anti-social behaviour and ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and premises
Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and incident response, liaising with emergency services as needed.
Building Front-of-House Operations
Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, contractors, and staff entering reception areas. o Monitor and control building access, validating identity and confirming authorisation
Assist with visitor and contractor check-in procedures using access control or booking systems.
Loading Dock & Delivery Security
Monitor and control access to loading bays, validating vehicle entries, deliveries, and contractor movements.
Ensure compliance with booking systems and permit-to-work procedures where required. o Perform visual checks of delivery vehicles and escort high-risk contractors or goods when appropriate
Fire Control Centre (FCC) Operations
Monitor CCTV, access control, lift alarms, and life safety systems within the Fire Control Centre.
Track, issue, and recover radios, keys, and security equipment using digital systems.
Maintain accurate digital logs of all FCC activity, including personnel movements, equipment sign-outs, and incidents.
Identify and troubleshoot minor faults with systems or devices and report larger issues to facilities
Liaise with building reception staff, tenant representatives, and service partners to coordinate access and

What we are looking for:
Essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Customer-focused with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations and emergencies
Able to work in mixed indoor/outdoor environments and all weather condition
Confident in managing digital logs, equipment control, and radio communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team across different operational contexts
SIA - Door Supervisor
Excellent report writing skills
Desirable
Previous security experience in multiple operational contexts
Experience in front-of-house, customer service-based security, or building reception roles
Previous experience in dock security, access control, or contractor management
Experience working in a control centre, Fire Control Centre, or building security monitoring role
Working knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
CCTV licence
