To protect property, assets, staff, and the public by maintaining a safe and secure environment through regular patrols, monitoring, and incident response. The Security Officer plays a key role in preventing loss, reducing risks, and upholding site safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of the premises.
Monitor surveillance equipment and access control systems.
Control access to buildings and restricted areas for staff, contractors, and visitors.
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or suspicious behaviour.
Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity.
Complete accurate and detailed incident, shift, and handover reports.
Provide a visible and professional presence to deter anti-social behaviour.
Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support.
Liaise with emergency services when necessary.
Follow company/site policies and procedures at all times.
Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and security breaches.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Valid SIA Licence (or local equivalent certification).
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
High level of vigilance and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Professional appearance and demeanour.
Desirable:
Experience in a similar security role or customer-facing environment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Work Conditions:
Work will involve exposure to outdoor weather.
