Security Officer - Residential Estate (Casual night shifts)

Job Summary

We are recruiting a Security Officer for the month of December to support the existing team on an exclusive private residential estate in Northwood. This the only private estate in the UK with a public tube station located inside it so can become extremely busy, particularly with people using it as a cut-through.



Your role will be to help maintain safety, security, and peace on the estate. This includes acting as a visible deterrent to potential burglars, monitoring traffic flow, supporting residents when required, and helping prevent antisocial behaviour. You will be provided with a patrol vehicle and will conduct regular mobile and foot patrols across the estate, ensuring any suspicious activity is identified and reported.

About the Role

Shift Pattern:

Adhoc cover only - typically

3 nights per week

, always falling on

Fridays or Saturdays

Shift Times:

18:00-06:00 or 19:00-07:00

Working Environment:

Lone working at night with ongoing communication support from the client and the Response Centre

Parking / Travel:

Free parking available near the gatehouse or main office; the estate also has an on-site tube station

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of the estate using both foot and vehicle patrols Act as a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour Monitor and manage unauthorised traffic using the estate as a shortcut Engage professionally with residents and visitors Report incidents clearly and promptly Follow all site procedures and instructions with accuracy Maintain strong awareness, vigilance, and attention to detail

Requirements

Essential

Valid

SIA Door Supervisor (DS)

licence Full

manual UK driving licence

Strong customer service skills Good standard of written and spoken English Ability to work confidently as a lone worker Physically fit enough for regular foot patrols Calm, proactive, and able to follow strict procedures

Desirable

2+ years' experience in a customer-facing or security role Experience handling busy or high-footfall environments
