Security Team Objectives

  • Ensure the safety and security of client staff, contractors, colleagues, and consumers.
  • Protect client assets by adhering to recognised best practice techniques and procedures.
  • Maintain site security and safety in accordance with site assignment instructions.
  • Organise and manage security team workloads efficiently without compromising service quality.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with building evacuation and searches, following site Emergency Response procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Deployment & Operations
  • Ensure security team members are effectively deployed, systems are operated correctly, and all required functions are performed.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to deliver exceptional service standards to internal and external customers.
  • Parade, deploy, and manage team members during their duty; ensure proper dress code, task allocation, and incident handling.
Leadership & Strategy
  • Demand high standards of service delivery through briefings and guidance.
  • Continuously review and enhance the site's security strategy by implementing industry best practices.

Team Management
  • Conduct fair and efficient duty rostering, annual leave allocation, and overtime scheduling.
  • Implement performance management processes, including monthly/annual reviews and probation reports.
  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping; take corrective action when necessary.
  • Investigate disciplinary and grievance matters; maintain team morale through effective leadership.
Communication & Coordination
  • Participate in team management meetings; provide reports and recommendations.
  • Promote and enforce Health & Safety policies, including access control, key control, smoking, and general site safety.
  • Conduct verification checks of Control Room equipment at the start/end of each shift; initiate corrective actions as needed.
Incident Response & Documentation
  • Manage incident responses promptly and effectively; escalate to senior management when appropriate.
  • Activate the Emergency Response Plan when required.
  • Maintain accurate records for daily reports, handovers, and incident transparency.
Security Protocols
  • Adjust team deployment based on prevailing alert levels.
  • Manage site key inventory; conduct start/end-of-shift checks and report discrepancies.
  • Supervise entry/exit searches as part of access control procedures, based on alert status.
  • Handle telephone enquiries professionally; escalate building faults to the appropriate helpdesk.
Escort & External Deployment
  • Deploy escorts for contract workers unless exempted in writing by the sponsoring department.
  • Ensure contractors do not enter restricted areas without prior written clearance and escort.
  • Deploy team members to off-site locations for supervision or emergency response as needed.
Site Procedures & Events
  • Conduct prescribed unlock/lockdown procedures at shift start/end.
  • Support corporate events by coordinating with supervisors and ensuring post-event security checks.
  • Perform periodic site tours to verify security coverage and record findings in duty logs.
  • Ensure patrolling officers are equipped with radios, keys, and Personal Notebooks (PNBs).
Compliance
  • Follow all reasonable instructions issued by the Security Operations Manager and Support Manager.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced security leader who demonstrates:
  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of security manning, CCTV systems, and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
  • Ability to lead transformational change.
  • High standards of delivery with strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach to customer management and service excellence.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety, with IOSH qualification as a minimum.
  • Motivation to exceed expectations.
  • Professionalism, diligence, and flexibility.
  • Commitment to staff development and performance management.
  • Capacity to inspire and enable others to excel.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and out-of-hours as part of a 24-hour operation.
