This role is based in our new Soho Place office - opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.
The role
The Security Threat Specialist, working in collaboration with the business, will be responsible for both proactive and targeted threat and vulnerability identification for cyber and insider threats across the organisation. They will translate these findings into tactical fixes and help advise on the strategic remediation.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Performing in-depth reviews of systems and processes to identify security weaknesses and control gaps
Authoring technical security documentation, threat models, and implementation guidance across all security levels
Providing detailed technical design advice and security recommendations for applications, services, infrastructure, and processes
Collaborating with Cyber Security, Incident Response, and Vulnerability Assessment teams to validate findings and coordinate remediation
Supporting risk management decisions and identifying audit points to ensure compliance or detect compromise
Assisting developers and system administrators in designing and evaluating secure solutions
Automating threat hunting to maintain confidence in security posture
Developing and delivering training and awareness to improve security knowledge across the business
Driving secure-by-design improvements that balance security with user experience
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be a capable and hands-on contributor. You must be experienced and enthusiastic about your area of expertise with a demonstrable track record of excellence.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Demonstrable expertise in one of the major security specialist areas, such as penetration testing, incident response, endpoint security, network security, malware analysis or identity access management
Experience in Security Architecture or Security Risk Management
Practical experience of threat modelling and risk assessment of applications, services and infrastructure
Technical experience reviewing engineering designs and implementations, including code reviews, such as high level programming languages like yaml and json
Knowledge and a passion for information and technical security and its technologies
An interest in team and personnel-related matters as opposed to focusing solely on isolated challenges
Confident to make quick but justified commercial-based decisions
