Duties/Responsibilities Job Purpose:We are currently recruiting for a Security Training Business Partner in London. Option for flexible working.Location - other UK wide locations where there is a business need. An option for a degree of training to be delivered remotely. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and ensuring development and implementation of training schedules to meet client training and certification goals; developing the client\xe2\x80\x99s annual training plan.
  • Ensuring all required Security-relevant training is coordinated, conducted, and accomplished.
  • Briefing the SSM and other management/client staff regarding the training status of the workforce.
  • Disseminating updates and management decisions that impact training.
  • Ensuring training compliance as required by the customer, legal and local procedures.
  • Evaluating training programs to determine staff, equipment and other critical resource needs.
  • Facilitating and coordinating all training for the customer including providing support for Security staff training and partnering with special programme training instructors to ensure the development and delivery of a comprehensive and cohesive training program.
  • Managerial duties include: Planning and communicating strategic vision and objectives; assigning tasks and responsibilities; setting priorities; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; taking, recommending, or approving corrective/disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
  • delivering the learning, leading to licence-linked qualifications. Must demonstrate that they have the necessary experience, knowledge and understanding of the sector in which they are providing training. There is a requirement to hold and maintain a current SIA licence.
  • Preference for armed services/police service/security industry/prison service
Experience: A minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 frontline operational experience in the last 5 years, which is relevant to the qualifications that they are delivering (eg SIA). This experience should have been gained in the UK.
  • STBP must be able to demonstrate evidence of a suitable level of continued professional development (CPD) in their sector. This should include the equivalent of at least 40 hours every year spent in a combination of training, increasing professional knowledge through other means, or working in the industry. Suitable CPD could include attendance at relevant conferences and seminars and continuing work experience in the sector. This CPD record must show that a National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO)/SIA-endorsed counter terrorism programme such as the ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) awareness training has been completed on an annual basis.
  • The STBP must have additional competencies to deliver the following units: Unit 3: Application of conflict management in the private security industry Level 3 Delivery of Conflict Management Training (NQF/QCF/RQF) The SIA may publish additional requirements for the role as and when they are agreed. The STBP may be required to deliver licence-linked qualifications. They should ensure that they are fully familiar and compliant with the requirements detailed within the qualification.
  • Reviews and/or provides advice and support to managers and staff, including programmes on security training related matters, i.e. interpretation and application/exceptions of security training standards, policies, regulations, rules and procedures; recommends changes as required.
  • Participates and/or leads security training projects to evaluate the impact of training, redesign existing standards, create new learning tools to address gaps and/or strengthen the management and quality assurance processes.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in various areas of security training and learning.
  • Coordinates and administers examinations and tests related to training certification of security staff.
  • Provides advice on training, and career development to the Security Workforce.
  • Designs, plans, monitors and provides induction orientation, core and specialist learning programmes for security personnel.
  • Assesses training needs, identifies, designs and delivers training programmes to staff and managers with security responsibilities at all levels.
  • Performs other related work as required.
