Job Description

As we are expanding, we are seeking a compassionate, dedicated & friendly (SELF EMPLOYED) Counsellor/ Therapist to join our team, to work independently from one of our therapy rooms in Hessle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality counselling, therapy and support to individuals facing various mental health challenges.

As one of our Therapists, you will work collaboratively with clients to develop personalised treatment plans, facilitate therapeutic sessions, and promote overall well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Responsibilities

To provide high quality, solution-focused Therapy to Adults. To work with the client to assess their needs & requirements for therapy, to create a personal treatment plan, and work towards their goals. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Monitor client progress and adjust their personal treatment plan as necessary. Stay informed about current developments in the field of mental health & therapy and integrate new approaches into your work. To be available to work daytime & some evenings. To be able to work with a minimum of 6 clients and hold a caseload of 6-20 which will be provided gradually.

Experience

Must hold a relevant qualification in Counselling. You do not have to be Accredited, but must demonstrate competency & the ability to work with a small to high caseload of clients independently & creatively. Having experience of Life Coaching is advantageous, though not necessary. Being able to work with Teens is advantageous, though not necessary. Being able to work with Couples is advantageous, though not necessary. Must be insured. Must be in supervision. Must hold current membership of Bacp, NCPS, or other professional therapy / coaching organisation. Hold a current DBS check Certificate. Previous experience in a therapeutic setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with all clients. Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, to offer a integrative, solution-focused approach. Ability to work independently. Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in mental health practices.
