Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods and packages to various locations in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the company's high standards of service. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational ability, and strong communication skills to coordinate deliveries effectively.

Responsibilities

Safely operate delivery vehicles, including lorries and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption. Pick up and deliver packages, documents, or goods to designated locations within the specified area. Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling. Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for as required. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle at all times. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered during routes. Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents promptly to management.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred. Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver's licence or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is advantageous. Experience handling heavy lifting or manual handling tasks safely. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members. Knowledge of local roads, traffic regulations, and safety procedures related to commercial driving is essential.
