We operate as a technology platform, not a courier company. Urban Pigeon acts as an intermediary, connecting customers with independent riders and facilitating payments, tracking, and support. Our mission is to make deliveries faster, friendlier, and more accessible while supporting flexible earning opportunities for riders.

Role Overview

As anIndependent Courier (Rider) on Urban Pigeon, you will use your own vehicle to accept and complete delivery requests through our website. You decide when you work, where you work, and which deliveries you accept. There are no shifts, no minimum hours, and no exclusivity.

This is a self-employed role, not employment. Delivery availability depends on customer demand and rider availability in your area.

What You Will Do

Accept delivery requests through the Urban Pigeon rider website Collect sealed parcels from pickup locations Deliver parcels safely and directly to the recipient at the drop locations Confirm collection and delivery using in-app proof of delivery (PIN / photo where applicable) Communicate politely with customers when needed Follow delivery category limits based on your vehicle type Refuse parcels that are unsafe, improperly packaged, or prohibited

Rider Requirements

To register and operate as a rider, you must:

Be 18 years or older Have the legal right to work in the UK Own and use a bicycle, motorbike, or car Hold a valid driving licence if using a motorbike or car Maintain a roadworthy, taxed, and insured vehicle Motor vehicles must have appropriate business or hire-and-reward insurance Have a smartphone with GPS and mobile data Upload required verification documents (ID, insurance, vehicle documents) Operate only within platform limits:

Bicycle: up to 5 miles / 5 kg

Motorbike: up to 20 miles / 15 kg

Car: no distance limit / larger or heavier parcels

Responsibilities and Legal Guidelines

By joining Urban Pigeon, you agree to operate as an independent contractor, not an employee. This means:

You are responsible for your own taxes, National Insurance, and HMRC reporting You provide and maintain your own vehicle, fuel, equipment, and insurance You must comply with UK road traffic laws and safety regulations You must not open, tamper with, or inspect parcels You must refuse prohibited items (cash, jewellery, hazardous goods, illegal items, alcohol etc.) You must not carry passengers while completing deliveries Customer data must only be used to complete the delivery and not retained afterward Urban Pigeon does not provide insurance for parcels, vehicles, or personal injury Registration and continued access to the platform are subject to acceptance of Urban Pigeon's applicable terms and policies

How to Apply

Apply through www.urbanpigeon.co.uk to register your interest as a rider. Once approved, you'll be guided through document upload and verification before going live on the platform.

Pay: 12.00-20.00 per hour
