We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods and packages promptly and safely across designated routes. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and a commitment to customer service. The Courier will play a vital part in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Hours
of work are depending on the workload but usually 1pm-8pm Monday - Saturday.
Would suit local driver to boost regular working hours.
Responsibilities
Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans or lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
Collect parcels from warehouses or distribution centres and deliver them to clients or designated locations.
Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for as required.
Handle packages with care, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring items are not damaged during transit.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during routes.
Maintain cleanliness and good working order of the delivery vehicle at all times.
Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety and compliance.
Skills
Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
Valid UK full driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling packages or goods.
Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Organised with the ability to plan routes efficiently under time constraints.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries.
Physical fitness to manage long hours on the road and handle physical tasks associated with the role.
