We are looking for an experienced and motivated Self Employed
Dental Hygienist
to join our small but growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, patient-focused professional who is passionate about prevention, education, and delivering outstanding oral health care.
The role includes working
Tuesdays 9.15am-6pm and Fridays 9.15am - 2pm
, with the option of
up to 2 Saturdays per month

Key Responsibilities of a Dental Hygienist
Provide high-quality periodontal care including:
Scale and polish, we currently offer GBT (Guided biofilm therapy) is new state-of-the-art technology that approaches dental plaque (dental biofilm) using Airflow, Perioflow and Piezon technologies. The ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience of this procedure.
Periodontal assessments and non-surgical periodontal therapy
Carry out full oral health assessments within scope of practice
Educate and motivate patients on oral hygiene, gum health, and disease prevention
Deliver tailored oral health advice, including smoking cessation and dietary guidance
Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records in line with GDC standards
Work closely with dentists and nurses to support holistic patient care
Ensure surgeries are maintained to a high standard, adhering to
HTM 01-05
and infection control protocols
Follow all
CQC
, clinical governance, and practice policies
Participate in audits, clinical meetings, and ongoing quality improvement where appropriate
Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
Key Skills and Experience
GDC registered Dental Hygienist
Minimum 2 year post-qualification experience preferred
Strong knowledge of periodontal disease and preventive dentistry
Excellent communication and patient rapport skills
Confident working independently while being a supportive team player
Highly organised and professional approach to clinical care
Passion for delivering exceptional patient-focused dentistry in a calm environment
IT literate and comfortable using dental software systems
